The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Washington Terrace 12th Ward, Washington Terrace

About this church

Washington Terrace has four meetinghouses of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the directory, and 125 E 5350 S hosts three congregations: Washington Terrace 12th Ward at 9 a.m., Washington Terrace 10th Ward at 10:30, and Washington Terrace 13th Ward at 12 p.m. The nearest other meetinghouse is only half a mile away, and the building stays open from 9 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon to fit all three.

Congregations like these are drawn along neighborhood lines, which is why three separate groups rotate through the same rooms on a single Sunday. Each sacrament meeting runs close to an hour, with hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from members, and each is followed by a second hour of classes, including Primary for children. No admission is charged, and no collection is ever taken. The building is equipped with an accessible entrance, parking, restroom, and seating. Because scheduling is handled locally and can shift, a short call ahead of a first visit is worthwhile.
