Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church offers an unusually broad Sunday Mass schedule in Alexandria. The Saturday vigil is at 5 p.m.; Sunday Masses are at 7:30, 9, and 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. in Spanish, and 5 p.m. A nursery for walking-age children through age six operates during the 9 and 11 a.m. Masses, entered through the main school entrance on Braddock Road. Daily Mass is celebrated Monday through Friday at 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Confession is available every weekday morning, Saturday afternoon, and in Spanish before the 2 p.m. Sunday Mass.

The parish began as Blessed Sacrament Mission in 1944, when Mass was celebrated at Fairlington Elementary School for a fast-growing Catholic population. It became an independent parish in 1945, later worshiped in a local theater while its first church was built, and moved into its present church-and-school complex in 1988. The complex was designed around an open plaza with covered walks, recalling medieval cloisters and Mediterranean villages. Friday Eucharistic Adoration runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Daily Chapel, and the Rosary is prayed Monday through Saturday at 8 a.m. Prospective families can also explore religious education, OCIA, Vacation Bible School, men's and youth groups.
