St. John Lutheran Church in Norfolk is an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregation in the Ocean View area, worshiping Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at its Tidewater Drive building. The Sunday service includes Holy Communion, and a choir under a music director supports worship. The congregation grew out of a 1950s mission of First Lutheran Church, worshiped in a local school before its chapel opened in 1958, and later absorbed St. Matthias Lutheran Church. It belongs to the ELCA's Virginia Synod.

Members serve through an altar guild, worship assistants, home communion visits, and a ride-share ministry, while the Diakonia Committee welcomes guests and cares for members who are sick, homebound, or grieving. The church takes part in synod-wide food drives and supports a neighborhood food ministry. Volunteers are also invited to help with ushering and reading Scripture in worship. Cub Scout Pack 191 meets at the church on Thursday evenings for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
