Bethel Lutheran Church

About this church

Bethel Lutheran Church gathers at 10 a.m. Sunday at 12919 Northeast 159th Street in Brush Prairie, with simultaneous YouTube livestream and telephone access. Adult Sunday School begins at 9. During the school year, children remain in worship through the Scripture reading, leave for Bible Time, and return for Holy Communion and the rest of the service. That pattern lets families begin and end the liturgy together rather than placing children's formation entirely outside worship.

Bethel formed in 1917 with thirty-two members as a Norwegian Lutheran congregation and remains on its original site. Its mission is to worship, witness, and serve through Christ, with discipleship expressed through Bible study, small groups, worship roles, and year-round outreach partnerships. The church is also home to the Rocksolid Community Teen Center, which provides an after-school safe haven for fifth- through twelfth-grade students from the Battle Ground and Hockinson school districts. People can volunteer in worship across varied skill levels, although some roles require preparation. Visitors who cannot attend in person have three practical options—live video, telephone connection, or archived services—while families attending on site can pair the 9 a.m. adult class with 10 a.m. worship and children's Bible Time.
