Riverside Church

About this church

Riverside Apostolic Lutheran Church begins Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:30 at 3500 West Deschutes Avenue in Kennewick. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month, and a congregational meal ordinarily follows worship on the second Sunday. The church also publishes sermons on YouTube, giving newcomers a direct sample of the preaching before attending.

The weekly rhythm continues with youth group Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. and Bible study Thursdays at 7:00. Riverside identifies with the Apostolic Lutheran Church and grounds its confession in the Bible, the Lutheran doctrinal tradition, the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian creeds, and the unaltered Augsburg Confession. Its mission and values place the authority of Scripture at the center of congregational teaching and life. For someone comparing Kennewick churches, the official calendar is particularly useful because it distinguishes recurring Sundays rather than listing worship alone: the first Sunday centers Communion, the second adds a shared meal, and the midweek schedule separates youth formation from adult study. The combination of a two-step Sunday morning, monthly sacramental and fellowship patterns, online sermons, and clearly stated Lutheran convictions makes Riverside readily understandable before a first visit.
