St John's Lutheran Church

About this church

St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage offers worship at 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and on Sunday mornings, with the official site providing the current Sunday hour and livestream information. The congregation's mission is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through Word and sacrament in worship, Christian education, caring, and service. Lutheran liturgy, preaching, Communion, and music form the center of weekly life.

A Christian Education Hour includes Youth Bible study for grades three through twelve in the All-Purpose Room and Sunday School for 4K through second grade in the school cafeteria. Weekday Bible studies, youth events, mission projects, fellowship, and the church's broader school ministry offer other points of connection. Visitors should use the current homepage rather than assume a Sunday time from an older directory because seasonal schedules can shift, while the Saturday 5:30 service is explicitly published. Families can review room locations before arrival and should allow time to move between the education spaces and worship. Current bulletins and ministry happenings give the most reliable week-specific details.
