What Does 1 Corinthians 6:14 Mean?
Having said the body is for the Lord, Paul grounds that dignity in the resurrection. The same divine power that raised Jesus from the grave will one day raise those who belong to Him, body and all.
This promise transforms how we regard our physical selves. If the body were merely temporary, it might be treated carelessly, but it is destined for resurrection glory. The Corinthians are reminded that their future is bound up with Christ's own rising. Because He lives, they too will live in renewed bodies, and so the body even now is sacred ground, claimed by the God who will not abandon it to the grave.
