What Does 1 Peter 2:25 Mean?
Peter closes the chapter with the gentlest of images. His readers were once like sheep gone astray, scattered and unguarded, the very picture of lostness.
But now they have returned, brought back to the Shepherd and Overseer of their souls. The same Christ who suffered for them now watches over them, leading and guarding the inner life. The wandering is over; the sheep are home with the One who gave himself for them. After all the talk of suffering and submission, Peter ends on belonging: every soul that strayed has a Shepherd who keeps it.
In the Original Language
