What Does 2 Kings 19:27 Mean?
God turns the full light of His knowledge on the king. I know your sitting down, your going out and coming in, and your raging against me. Every movement of Sennacherib's life, and every surge of his fury toward God, lies open and fully known.
Sennacherib had treated the LORD as distant and blind, a God to be insulted without consequence. But God sees the whole of him, his rest and his marching, and most of all the rage in his heart. There is comfort here and warning together. For the faithful under siege, it means God misses nothing of the enemy's plans. For the proud, it means no defiance is hidden. The God who knows our going out and coming in is the God from whom nothing can be concealed.
