What Does Acts 19:20 Mean?
This is one of the hinge sentences by which Luke marks the advance of the gospel through Acts (6:7; 12:24). In Ephesus the word has outlasted synagogue resistance, exposed counterfeit exorcism, and emptied the shelves of the magic trade; now Luke gathers it all into one line of triumph.
