What Does Acts 19:22 Mean?
Paul prepares the way for the journey just announced. Timothy, his beloved son in the faith (1 Cor 4:17), and Erastus (cf. Rom 16:23; 2 Tim 4:20) go ahead to ready the churches of Macedonia, while Paul remains in Ephesus for a season, where, as he writes about this time, a great and effectual door is opened to him (1 Cor 16:8-9).
