What Does Acts 21:5 Mean?
The seven days completed, Paul and his company set out, and the entire body of believers, including wives and children, walks them out of the city to the shore. There, on the open beach, they all kneel down together and pray before parting.
It is a beautiful picture of the church: whole households accompanying a departing servant of God, then bowing in the sand to commend him to the Lord. Prayer, not anxiety, has the last word over a friend bound for danger. When we cannot keep those we love from hard roads, we can still kneel and place them in the Father's hands.
