What Does Ecclesiastes 1:6 Mean?
Continuing his survey of nature, the Preacher watches the wind. It blows south, swings north, and whirls about without rest, always circling back along the same paths. Like the sun, it is endlessly busy and endlessly returning.
The repetition can feel like a treadmill: tremendous motion, no final arrival. Creation hums along faithfully, yet its circuits cannot answer the heart's question of where it all is going.
