What Does Ephesians 6:22 Mean?
Paul explains his purpose in sending Tychicus: 'that ye might know our affairs.' He repeats his desire that the church be kept informed, a mark of his pastoral care. He does not want them left wondering but reassured by a firsthand report from a trusted friend.
More tenderly still, Tychicus comes 'that he might comfort your hearts.' Paul knows his readers may be troubled by his imprisonment, and he sends not only news but comfort.
