What Does James 5:19 Mean?
James closes the letter with a final concern: the believer who wanders. If any among you strays from the truth, and someone turns him back, James sets before the reader the ministry of restoring a straying brother or sister.
The one who has erred has drifted from the truth into ways of falsehood or sin, and another believer goes after him to bring him home. This is the work of love that takes a wandering soul seriously and acts to recover it. James has spoken much of doing the truth; here is one of its highest expressions, the patient pursuit of the one who has gone astray.
