Job 13:16 Meaning and Explanation

Job builds on his declaration of trust. He believes God Himself will be his salvation, his deliverance, and he stakes that hope on the fact that no hypocrite would ever presume to come before God as Job is doing.

Job's very boldness becomes evidence of his sincerity. A false-hearted man would flee God's presence, but Job runs toward it, and in that he finds assurance. The verse quietly proclaims a gospel truth: salvation is found in God alone. Job looks to no remedy of his own but to the Lord as his rescuer. This longing is answered fully in Christ, in whom God became our salvation, welcoming all who come to Him without pretense and in honest faith.
