What Does Job 26:6 Mean?
Job extends the thought of the previous verse: even Sheol, the realm of the dead, and Abaddon, the place of destruction, are stripped bare before the Almighty. There is no curtain deep enough to hide from Him.
If the world of the dead is open before God, then surely Job's heart and grief are open too. Nothing in heaven, earth, or below escapes His knowing. This is the searching, comforting truth that there is no place where His presence is not, no darkness that can hide from the One to whom all things are naked and opened (Hebrews 4:13).
