What Does Job 35:14 Mean?
Now Elihu applies all of this directly to Job. Job has complained that he cannot find God or get his case heard. Elihu answers that even so — even when God seems unseen — 'judgment is before him'; the case is already in His hands, and His justice is sure. The conclusion is not despair but a command: 'therefore trust thou in him.'
This is the pastoral heart of the chapter. The hiddenness of God is not His absence, and the delay of justice is not its denial. 'Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart' (Psalm 27:14). Faith's task in the dark is to keep believing that the Judge of all the earth will do right, and to entrust the unfinished case to Him. Where sight fails, trust is asked — and trust is enough.
