What Does Job 7:9 Mean?
Job draws another image from the sky: a cloud that thins, fades, and is gone. So, he says, the one who goes down to the grave does not come back up to the life he knew here.
Job speaks from within his grief, describing death as it appears to mortal eyes: a one-way departure from this present world. The Bible records his honest sense of finality without rebuke.
