2 Corinthians 13 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

2 Corinthians is a letter Paul wrote to help God's family love God and love each other.

This is the very end of the letter — the part where Paul says goodbye and leaves them with a warm wish.

Today's Story

Paul was coming to the end of his letter. You know how at the end of a phone call, your grown-up says, “Okay—love you—bye!”? Paul was doing something like that. He wanted to leave his friends in Corinth with good words to hold onto.

“Take a good look at your own hearts,” Paul told them. “Are you still following Jesus? Keep close to Him.”

Then Paul gave them his goodbye wish. “Do everything you can to do what is right,” he said. “Cheer each other up. Agree with one another. Live in peace.”

And he promised them something wonderful: “If you do, the God of love and peace will be right there with you.”

Paul even told them to give each other a warm hello, the way friends greet people they love.

Then he prayed the kindest goodbye prayer: “May the grace of Jesus, and the love of God, and the friendship of God's Spirit be with you all.”

What a good way to say goodbye — wrapping his friends up in God's love.
