Galatians 6 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Galatians is a letter Paul wrote to a church family far away. He wanted to help them love God and love each other.

This is the very last part of his letter — the part where he says goodbye.

Today's Story

Paul is finishing his letter to his friends. He has one more thing on his heart, so he writes it down.

“Carry each other's heavy loads,” he says. Think of a backpack that is too full. It is hard to carry all by yourself! But when a friend grabs one strap and helps you lift, it feels light again. Paul says God's family is like that. When someone is sad or tired or having a hard day, we help carry it with them.

Then Paul says something a kid can hold onto forever. “Let us not become tired of doing good.” Doing good is wonderful — but it can also be tiring! Being kind again and again, sharing again and again, helping again and again. Sometimes we just want to stop.

Paul says, please don't stop. He even tells us why. He says it is like planting seeds in a garden. If you plant a tiny seed and water it and wait, one day it grows into something good. “At the right time we will gather a crop,” Paul says, “if we do not give up.”

So whenever you can, be kind to everybody — and especially to God's family.

A Big Word

Talk About It

  1. When was a time today that being good or being kind felt a little bit tiring?
  2. Who is someone with a “heavy load” right now — someone sad or tired — that you could help carry?
  3. What is one good thing you want to keep doing this week, even when it gets hard?
