Job 7 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Job was a good man who was having a very hard time. In this chapter, he tells God exactly how he feels.

Today's Story

Job was so tired. He had lost so much, and his heart hurt, and he could not sleep.

So Job did something brave. He did not hide his sad feelings. He talked to God about every single one of them.

“My days go by so fast,” Job said. “They zip past quicker than a weaver's thread. The nights feel so long. I toss and turn until morning.”

“God, You see me,” Job said. “Will You remember that my life is short? I feel like a tiny puff of wind that comes and then is gone.”

Job did not understand why everything had gone wrong. He had a lot of big questions. But notice who he brought all of them to. He did not turn away from God. He turned toward God and kept talking to Him.

That is allowed. When your heart is heavy, you do not have to pretend you feel fine. You can tell God the truth, even the sad and tired parts. God is big enough to hear all of it, and He never walks away.

  1. Job told God when he felt tired and sad. What is something that has made you feel sad or tired lately?
  2. Job did not hide his feelings from God. Why do you think it helps to tell God the truth about how we feel?
  3. God never walked away from Job, even when Job was upset. How does it feel to know God always stays close to you?
