Romans is a letter Paul wrote to help God's family love God and love each other.
Today's Story
Paul keeps writing his letter to God's family, and today he talks about one short word that is bigger than it looks: love.
There are a lot of rules in the world. Don't take what isn't yours. Don't hurt people. Tell the truth. Those are all good rules! But Paul says there is one thing that holds every good rule together. He writes, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
Think about it. If you really love someone, you won't take their things — because you love them. You won't lie to them or hurt them — because you love them. “Love does no harm to its neighbor,” Paul says. So love is like the answer to all the rules at once!
Then Paul says something exciting. “Wake up!” he writes. The night is almost over, and morning is coming. He means Jesus is coming back, and a bright new day is on the way. So we don't need to live in the dark doing wrong things. We can live in the light — awake, kind, and full of love — while we wait for Him.
