Zechariah 6 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Zechariah was a man who saw amazing pictures from God in the night. They were full of hope.

Today's Story

Zechariah looked up, and he saw something wonderful. Four shiny chariots came out from between two tall mountains made of bronze. Whoosh!

The first chariot had red horses. The next had black horses. Then white horses. Then strong, spotted horses. They pawed the ground. They were ready to run.

“What are these?” Zechariah asked.

An angel told him, “These are God's helpers. They go out to every corner of the whole world — north, south, east, and west. God is watching over all of it.”

And the horses raced off in every direction, looking after the earth for God.

Then God gave Zechariah a special job. “Take silver and gold,” God said, “and make a beautiful crown. Put it on Joshua, the helper who serves Me.”

It was a sign. God was saying, “One day a special King is coming. I call Him the Branch. He will grow up strong, and He will build My house, and He will bring people close to Me. People from far away will come to help.”

It was a happy promise about a good King on the way.
