What Does Luke 12:26 Mean?
Jesus presses the logic home. Adding a cubit — or an hour — He calls that thing which is least: small from heaven's side, impossible from ours. If worry fails at the least thing, its claim to handle the rest collapses with it.
There is mercy in the method. Jesus dismantles anxiety not by scolding but by reasoning, the way a friend talks a friend back from the edge. The rest — food, clothing, the shape of tomorrow — belongs to the Father who manages the least things easily. Our strength is then freed for what is actually given us to do: today's work, today's obedience, today's trust.
