What Does Mark 12:8 Mean?
The plot is carried out in three blunt verbs: took, killed, cast out. The son is not even granted burial within the vineyard he came to claim -- a final indignity heaped upon murder.
Within days these words came true. Jesus was seized in Gethsemane, condemned by the vineyard's keepers, and crucified outside the city wall (Hebrews 13:12).
