What Does Micah 2:11 Mean?
Micah names the people's appetite with biting honesty. A man full of wind and lies, who promises only wine and strong drink, is exactly the prophet they want. They crave comfort and indulgence, not truth.
It is a warning against itching ears that seek out teachers who flatter rather than correct. A message is not true because it is pleasant, nor false because it is hard. The mark of a faithful word is not how good it makes us feel but how truly it reflects the will of God, and the wise learn to love the truth more than the flattery.
