What Does Revelation 22:10 Mean?
The angel gives a further charge. Where an earlier prophet was once told to seal his words for a distant day, John is told the opposite: do not seal this prophecy. The time is at hand, and so the message is to stand open and available.
An unsealed word is a word meant to be read now. The nearness of the time makes this revelation urgent rather than hidden, given for the living and not locked away for some far future. God does not withhold what his servants need to hear. The openness of the book is itself a mercy, placing its warnings and its hope within reach of everyone who will listen.
