Christ Healing the Sick
As his fame spreads through Galilee, Jesus is surrounded by crowds bringing the sick and afflicted to him, and he heals them all (Matthew 4). An oil on canvas by the Danish painter Carl Bloch (1875).

Carl Heinrich Bloch was a Danish painter best known for the 23-painting cycle on the life of Christ commissioned for the Chapel of Frederiksborg Castle (1865–1879). His warmly lit, intimate scenes are among the most widely reproduced devotional images of the 19th century.
