Passed by the priest and the Levite, a man left half-dead by robbers is tended by a Samaritan who binds his wounds and carries him to an inn (Luke 10). A watercolor by the French painter James Tissot, from his life of Christ.

Depicted passages
French painter who, after a vision experience in 1885, devoted the rest of his career to an extensive illustrated New Testament based on travel through the Holy Land. His watercolors are now held at the Brooklyn Museum.
