What Does 1 Timothy 1:5 Mean?
Paul names the goal of all true teaching: love. Not love as mere feeling, but love springing from a clean heart, a conscience at rest, and faith without pretense.
These three roots feed one fruit. When the heart is pure, the conscience untroubled, and the faith honest, love grows naturally. Correcting false teaching is never an end in itself; it clears the ground so this love can flourish.
