What Does Micah 1:8 Mean?
The prophet does not deliver judgment coldly. He wails and howls, going stripped like a mourner, crying out like jackals and ostriches of the wilderness. The word of doom breaks his own heart.
True prophets weep over the people they warn. Micah's grief mirrors the heart of God, who takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. This is the pattern fulfilled in Christ, who wept over Jerusalem even as He foretold its fall. To speak hard truth in love is to feel its weight.
