What Does Obadiah 1:6 Mean?
Calling Edom by the name of its ancestor Esau, the prophet marvels at how completely her secrets are uncovered. The hidden things, the treasures stored away in mountain vaults and secret places, are ransacked and sought up, found out to the last.
Nothing concealed stays concealed before God's judgment. What Edom thought safely buried is brought to light. For the reader, the verse echoes a deeper truth: there is no hiding place from the One who sees all, and what we tuck away in the dark is open before Him. It calls us to live now as those already fully known and to seek treasure that cannot be plundered.
