    Christ Connection - Son of the Father

    John opens his blessing by anchoring grace, mercy, and peace in both Father and Son. The full divinity and full authority of Christ shine in every word: "God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father." This is not a subordinate figure; this is the one through whom God’s full blessing flows. See John 1:1, 14: "The Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word was made flesh." To know the Son is to know the Father.
