Here is the surprise hidden in how this transformation happens. Paul says you are changed into the same image by beholding the glory of the Lord - that you become like Christ the way a face lit by the sun begins to shine, by turning toward the light. The partaking Peter promises is what happens to a person who keeps looking at Jesus. Keep your eyes there long enough, and the corruption loosens and His likeness sets in.

Christ Connection - The Lord Who Bought Them
Look closely at the phrase Peter chooses for them: they deny the Lord that bought them . The price was already paid before the denial ever crossed their lips. They are runaway property. A purchase does not become void because the purchased object refuses to belong; the blood was spent, the transaction stands, and their rejection only deepens the debt. The heresy is a refusal of ownership: a slave shaking off the hand that ransomed him.

Christ Connection - He Will Come Again
At the Last Supper, Jesus said, "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again" (John 14:3). To His disciples He promised: "You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power and coming on the clouds of heaven" (Matt. 26:64). The promise is personal. The coming is real: His visible arrival.
