Surprise Church of Christ

About this church

Surprise Church of Christ is a nondenominational body of Christians seeking to help strangers become friends, friends become family, and the whole community grow more like Christ. Its New Testament worship includes singing, prayer, Scripture, preaching, Communion, and giving. Children’s classes, teen ministry, Leadership Training for Christ, and service-oriented relationships help different ages participate. The congregation’s visitor guide is unusually practical about service length, dress, children, and the shape of worship.

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship at 10:30. The service normally ends between 11:30 and 11:45, and the sermon usually lasts twenty-five to thirty minutes. There is no dress code; clothing ranges from shorts to dresses and suits. Children age three through third grade can attend a class during the sermon, while a nursery lets mothers care for infants and continue hearing the service. Activity packets help older children remain engaged in the auditorium. Wednesday Bible study starts at 7:00 p.m. Because Communion is part of the congregation’s weekly first-day-of-the-week practice, a first-time visitor can expect it within the ordinary Sunday service rather than only on a monthly schedule. The contact page is available for accessibility or family questions before arrival.
