Bethel Lutheran Church

About this church

Bethel Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation that has served Cupertino and the South Bay for more than fifty years. It pairs Lutheran Word-and-Sacrament worship with children, youth, adult learning, music, service, and a weekday preschool. Both Sunday services celebrate Communion weekly, but their musical character differs: the early gathering is traditional, while the later one uses a contemporary format.

Sunday worship begins at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m., with the 8:45 service also available online. The later service meets outdoors on the front lawn through August 30 and moves indoors from September 13 through May 30; outdoor worshipers should bring a chair or blanket. A professional nursery welcomes children age five and younger during both services, activity bags are available, and the later gathering includes a children’s message. Youth meet Sunday from 9:50 to 10:40. During the September-to-May program year, confirmation generally runs from 9:45 to 10:45, with an extended 8:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. schedule on the first Sunday. Because season changes affect the 10:45 location, visitors should verify the current calendar.
