Church of Christ

About this church

Studebaker Road Church of Christ worships at 3433 North Studebaker Road in Long Beach. Sunday Bible class begins at 9:50 a.m., followed by worship at 10:45 and an evening service at 5:30; Wednesday class meets at 7 p.m. The congregation is bilingual in English and Spanish. During Sunday morning worship, the Lord's Supper is led in both languages and hymns are sung bilingually. After Communion, Spanish-speaking worshipers may move to a second auditorium for a Spanish sermon while an English sermon is delivered in the main room. Adult Bible classes are also available in Spanish.

The congregation describes its assemblies as simple and devout, organized around five New Testament practices: singing praise, prayer, the Lord's Supper, study of Scripture, and giving. The building is intentionally plain compared with more ornate religious settings, reflecting a desire to direct attention toward God rather than presentation. Leadership pages explain the roles of elders, deacons, and evangelists, and the church's name “Just Christians” communicates its nonsectarian aspiration. For visitors needing language access, the integrated bilingual Communion and music followed by parallel sermons provide a particularly thoughtful structure, allowing families to worship together for much of the gathering while hearing teaching in their strongest language.
