About this church
Mount of Olives Lutheran Church offers three one-hour Sunday services: spirited, choir-led traditional worship at 8:30 a.m. and modern worship with a full band at 9:45 and 11. The 9:45 service is available online. Each gathering includes music and a Bible-rooted message with practical application; lyrics and Scripture appear onscreen. Attire ranges from shorts to suits. The campus has front, rear, street, and several overflow parking options, and it is wheelchair accessible with designated sanctuary seating. Ushers can provide earplugs when needed, and the church notes that occasional special services use theatrical haze.
Kid City serves registered, potty-trained preschoolers through fifth graders during all three services, using Bible lessons, discussion, games, and creative activities. Nursery care for children three and younger, a nursing area, and a soundproof cry room are also available. Students in grades 6–12 meet across the street at The Rock Sundays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for worship, teaching, and age-based small groups. Communion is ordinarily celebrated on the first Sunday and is open to anyone who trusts Jesus as Savior. Beyond worship, Mount of Olives operates a Christian preschool and kindergarten, supports small groups and missions, and has provided an Adult Day Program for older adults with mild memory or clinical conditions since 1987. The congregation traces its Mission Viejo ministry to 1967 and states its mission as “To Know Christ and Make Him Known.”
