Wellspring Anglican Church

About this church

Wellspring Anglican Church worships in person and by livestream at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at 1548 Cummins Drive in Modesto. The congregation looks to the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds and the Anglican Thirty-Nine Articles as guides to inherited Christian faith rather than designing belief around a particular moment. Its name comes from the account of Jesus and the woman at the well in John 4, emphasizing the living water that the church believes Christ provides.

Wellspring formed in July 2009 when most members of St. Paul's Episcopal Church left that denomination and established a new Anglican congregation. It first leased space at Ninth and H Streets, later moved to Cummins Drive, and now belongs to the Anglican Church in North America through the Anglican Diocese of the Rocky Mountains. Visitors with children are invited to contact the office for current guidance about what to expect. The church also publishes a detailed Safe Church policy focused on preventing and responding to abuse, educating the community, setting boundaries, protecting vulnerable children and adults, caring for survivors, and holding offenders accountable. Seasonal Holy Week and feast-day services are posted separately, so the ordinary 10:15 Sunday hour should not be used to infer the schedule for major observances.
