About this church
Chinese Evangelical Free Church of Los Angeles is a multilingual Monterey Park congregation. Cantonese and Mandarin worship begin Sunday at 9:30 a.m.; English worship follows at 11:15. English Sunday School runs from 9:30 to 10:45, while Cantonese and Mandarin classes meet from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. That reciprocal schedule allows participants to combine worship in one language with education in the other time block. A whole-church prayer meeting meets Wednesday at 8 p.m. Children's sessions serve infants through fifth grade across the two Sunday periods, and youth fellowship for sixth through twelfth grade gathers Friday at 7:45 p.m.
The church has served Monterey Park and the Greater San Gabriel Valley since 1974 and belongs to the Evangelical Free Church of America. Its mission is to glorify God by spreading the Gospel through words, actions, and relationships transformed by faith—from individuals and families to the city and wider world. Children's ministry emphasizes a safe, loving environment and a firm foundation in Scripture. Youth ministry divides middle-school and high-school students into age-aware fellowships while bringing them together around discipleship, identity, purpose, and service. Outreach includes prayer, financial partnership, and hands-on work with local and global communities. A first-time visitor should choose the worship language first, then use the complementary education block if desired. Parents should confirm which age group belongs in each of the two children's sessions during check-in.
