Community Baptist Church of San Mateo

About this church

Community Baptist Church of San Mateo is a multilingual congregation organized around loving all, serving the community, and developing believers. Its Sunday schedule brings English, Cantonese, and Mandarin communities to the same Humboldt Street sanctuary at different hours. Children’s care and English-language Sunday School from preschool through high school accompany the first service, while Cantonese adult Sunday School follows it. Small groups, youth ministry, joint congregational events, and outreach across the San Francisco Bay Area create connections beyond language-specific worship.

English worship begins Sunday at 9:30 a.m., with nursery care and classes for preschoolers through high-school students. Light refreshments and Cantonese adult Sunday School begin at 11:15. Cantonese worship also starts at 11:15 in the Sanctuary and on Zoom, while Mandarin worship begins at 3:00 p.m. Because two activities share the 11:15 hour, visitors should confirm whether they are looking for Cantonese worship or the adult class that follows the English service. The connect page lists additional groups on first or third Fridays and Saturdays, but those are ministry-specific monthly rhythms, not extra Sunday services. Past sermons and joint events can help newcomers preview how the congregation worships across its three language communities.
