First Baptist Church of Merritt Island

About this church

First Baptist Church of Merritt Island begins Sunday with Connect classes at 9 a.m. and gathers for worship at 10:30. Wednesday Connect activities for children, students, and adults run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Guests arriving at the Magnolia Avenue campus can use marked parking near the front entrance; when the closest spaces fill, golf-cart rides are available to the main doors. The information desk just inside is the practical first stop for directions. This is a multigenerational Southern Baptist congregation, so the Sunday class hour provides an easy path into a group before the main service.

Part of the Merritt Island community since 1949, the church describes itself as Bible-believing and committed to sharing the gospel locally and outward to the world. Children's programming is carefully divided by age: babies and toddlers receive care, preschool and kindergarten children combine Bible learning with activities, and the broader curriculum follows the Bible chronologically from Genesis to Revelation. Firehouse Student Ministry serves grades seven through twelve, with Sunday class from 9 to 10:15 a.m. before worship and additional Wednesday gatherings. Adults can explore men's, women's, young-adult, and senior-adult connections. Families visiting for the first time should allow extra time for check-in, especially if using children's care, then plan to move from classes into the 10:30 service.
