Merritt Island Presbyterian Church

About this church

At 10 a.m. Sunday, Merritt Island Presbyterian Church gathers at 600 South Tropical Trail and through Facebook Live. An organist-pianist and guest musicians lead weekly music, and the online option remains available for travelers, remote participants, and anyone unable to reach the building. Adult Bible studies start at 9, allowing visitors to add a smaller learning hour before worship.

Children preschool age through sixth grade begin in the service, then move to Children's Church after the children's message for Bible stories, crafts, and games. Adults can also explore women's studies and other formation opportunities listed through the church. Local outreach includes Heavenly Handmade, whose crafters meet every other Wednesday to create prayer shawls, lap blankets, and hats for hospitals, nursing homes, homebound people, and unsheltered neighbors. The outreach committee also coordinates food, supplies, and other necessities with homelessness partners. A separate mission committee raises funds, chooses projects, sends teams within and outside the United States, and contributes both money and handmade clothing for children. First-time guests can preview worship online, arrive at 9 for study, or come directly to the 10 o'clock gathering. Families should expect children to start alongside adults before transitioning, a format that keeps the opening portion of worship intergenerational.
