St Mary's Church

About this church

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church celebrates Holy Eucharist Sundays at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. at 6841 Oak Street in Milton; the 11:00 service is also livestreamed. A Wednesday noon Eucharist incorporates a healing liturgy. Worship follows the Book of Common Prayer and moves through biblical readings, sermon, creed, shared prayers, peace, and Communion, with hymns and a pattern of standing, sitting, kneeling, and spoken or sung responses.

All baptized Christians, regardless of denomination, are invited to receive Communion; others may come forward for a blessing. That clear guidance makes St. Mary’s especially approachable for visitors unfamiliar with Episcopal liturgy. The Gothic Revival church, built from native timber between 1875 and 1878, retains hand-carved oak and cypress pews and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places with its rectory in 1982. Parish life includes Daughters of the King, Episcopal Church Women, a men’s group, and a creative ministry that makes newborn hats, teddy bears, and bereavement gowns for local hospital families. Its Malawi partnership has funded wells, food after crop failures and floods, transport for a priest, and a goat-sharing program for widows. Current bulletins and sermons are available online.
