Hope Presbyterian Church

About this church

Hope Presbyterian Church holds traditional worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at 2110 Cypress Gardens Boulevard in Winter Haven, with a live stream through Facebook or BoxCast. A partner Spanish-language congregation, Iglesia Presbiteriana Nueva Esperanza, worships at 11:30. The English service generally lasts about an hour and includes prayer, hymns, Scripture, a Bible-based message, community sharing, and reflection. Dress ranges from suits and dresses to jeans and shorts.

Music draws from a broad traditional repertoire and values both ensemble work and individual contributions. On each month's first Sunday, the service includes Holy Communion, while seasonal experiences include a walk through the Garden of Hope during Holy Week. Hearing devices are available in the narthex, and deacons can assist guests. Hope began in 1957 when 44 members of First Presbyterian sought a congregation in Winter Haven's fast-growing southeast area; services met at the high school until the church building opened in 1961. Its Hope Creative School, founded in 1970, now supports children from infancy through kindergarten with chapel, music, library, prayer, physical education, and hands-on learning. Visitors can choose English or Spanish worship, preview the traditional service online, and request a hearing device before taking a seat. The lighted parking areas provide access from Cypress Gardens Boulevard and Suwanee Road.
