The Gathering Community Church

About this church

The Gathering Community Church is a Cleveland, Georgia congregation centered on worship, relational small groups, children, students, recovery, missions, and service. Gathering Kids uses Bible teaching, crafts, kindness, and practical acts of service for children under three through fifth grade. Breakthrough Students encourages middle- and high-school students to grow into their calling, while women’s ministry and Celebrate Recovery create additional communities beyond Sunday.

Gathering Groups meet Sunday at 9:00 a.m., with coffee between groups and worship. The main service begins at 10:30, and children’s check-in opens at 10:15. A first-time visitor can use ample on-site parking, then find greeters at the doors or Welcome Desk for directions to the nursery, classrooms, sanctuary, restrooms, or fellowship space. Children also meet Wednesday evening, and Breakthrough Students for grades six through twelve begins Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Celebrate Recovery gathers Friday at 7:00; on the first Friday of the month, a meal is served at 6:00. The new-visitor page contains one compressed sentence that can make 9:00 look like a service time, but the repeated schedule separates 9:00 Gathering Groups from 10:30 worship. Visitors seeking the main service should therefore arrive for 10:30, or earlier at 10:15 when checking children in. Event calendars should be checked for mission trips and recovery-meal dates.
