Dalton First United Methodist Church

About this church

Dalton First United Methodist Church offers a modern Sunday service at 9:30 a.m.; the traditional service follows at 11. The congregation describes itself as a place to meet Jesus, find life-giving community, discover gifts, and use them in service. During August through April, Wonderful Wednesdays begin with dinner at 5 p.m. and programming at 6. Families can find nursery care for babies from eight weeks through age three on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. Children's options include Sweet Sound at 9:30 a.m. and Holy Moments Children's Church at 11, with worship, prayer, Scripture, and hands-on activities adapted to different ages.

Students meet Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. for games and Bible study, while a confirmation class during the same window explores Christian faith and Methodist history and theology. The church's Connections Pathway gives newcomers a direct route to ask about community, baptism, and next steps. Local mission work includes school support, snack sacks for elementary students, food and clothing drives, child care, family assistance, prison reentry, and shelter-related partnerships. International partners address schools and water systems in Nicaragua and ministry among women in Israel, and another partnership focuses on preventing human trafficking. The official pages do not detail parking, accessible entrances, clothing expectations, service duration, Communion frequency, child check-in or screening practices, or hearing and sensory support.
