St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church

About this church

St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church in Hinesville celebrates a 5 p.m. Saturday Vigil and Sunday Mass at 8 and 10 a.m., with a Spanish Mass at noon. The official schedule separately identifies Spanish liturgies in Jesup, so visitors should take care to distinguish those from the Woodland Drive campus. English weekday Mass is at noon Monday through Thursday, while Spanish weekday Mass is at 7 p.m. Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Confession is available during weekday Adoration and from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Saturday.

Faith formation for grades one through eight is organized around the Creed, liturgy and sacraments, commandments, and prayer, with every program centered on the Trinity and Christ's presence in the Eucharist. The stated goal is not only religious instruction but preparing children to participate actively in the church's life and mission. Parish ministries include readers who proclaim Scripture and extraordinary ministers who serve at Mass and bring Communion to sick and homebound Catholics. The ministry page also highlights required training intended to protect children and parishioners who are disabled or impaired. Someone new to Catholic practice can review the parish's explanations of prayer, sacraments, and church life before attending; families seeking CCD should confirm registration dates and class times separately from the stable Mass schedule.
