St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church

About this church

St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church worships at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at 6780 James B. Rivers Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain. The early Rite I service is spoken, while the Rite II service includes music and streams on YouTube. A Dinka-language service meets at 2 p.m. and streams on Facebook. The church's current homepage says healing services are paused, so that ministry should not be treated as part of the regular weekly schedule. Visitors do not need to be members to join worship, formation, activities, or outreach.

The parish began in 1950 when fifteen people met in a home to establish an Episcopal mission. Today it describes a congregation drawn from communities across greater Atlanta and shaped by European American, Caribbean, African, African American, South American, Asian, and Hispanic backgrounds. During the 10:30 service, children in grades one through five leave for age-group classes and return for Communion. The formation page also lists a Dinka Sunday School, but it retains an older 3:30 service reference; prospective families should rely on the current 2 p.m. worship schedule and ask the church about children's timing. Youth participate in service projects, while adults can join a Wednesday noon Bible study online.
